1. That the distance between beds is 18 yards and the player shall deliver his quoit with the first step.
2. No quoit be allowed to measure more than 8 5/8 inches in diameter and not less than 3 3/8 inches in the hole. No limit as to the weight.
3. The top of the pins must be level with the surface of the clay. Clay beds to be eight inches deep.
4. The sides of the beds must be a minimum of three feet square and must be flat. On each side of the beds there must be running boards 6ft long and 1½ft to 2ft wide. All players are allowed to over-toe the line of the pin by a distance not exceeding 2in.
5. Pins to be in centre of the centre of the bed and to be 2in diameter tapered out 8in from the top to 7/8in at the point with a pop hole in the centre of the pin. The pins must be so placed so as to prevent them sinking into the clay when hit by the Quoit. Also they must be well supported at the back to prevent them from slanting backwards; care being taken to have the back support 9in below the surface of the clay so as to prevent the Quoit from bounding off it.
6. All measurements to be taken from the centre of the pin to the nearest part of the Quoit. All intervening clay to be removed. If a Quoit lies over the centre of a pin, it shall be removed to measure for the second, and if the position of any Quoit on the bed interferes with the true measurement of any other Quoit, the said Quoit shall also be removed so that the correct measurement may be obtained.
7. The pin must be clear of clay before the player plays his first Quoit and in the event of the hub (pin) being covered by the clay after the first Quoit is played and the lighters require to find the pin, they must do so with the callipers, but no clay must be removed until all the Quoits are played.
8. The game to be 21 points up in club matches between the players. Points up in other games to be arranged by the Council and the order of lead shall be determined by tossing a coin. Each player shall deliver one Quoit; his opponent following with one. The winner at each successive end will throw the first Quoit.
9. No quoit shall count unless the whole of it be clear of the frame, no matter what position it lies. Clay to be removed if necessary, to measure.
10. A player may be allowed to change his quoits once only during a game, by notifying his opponent and the two Captains. Should a quoit break, the nearest part of the quoit to the pin shall count if clear of the frame.10. 11. Should either of the players, lighters or cleaners touch, or otherwise disturb a disputed quoit and cause it to move, the point or points affected shall be awarded to the other player/side.
12. All disputes as to measurement shall be decided in accordance with Rule 16.
13. Should a Quoit, after striking the boards, disturb its own or an opponent's Quoit, the disturbed quoit shall be measured from its final position.
14. A lighter shall light his man to the best of his ability, and measure as quickly as possible, but on no account put his feet on the clay. Each player shall select his lighter, and if not satisfied with the one he selects, he may change his as he so wishes during the process of the game.
15. The following persons only are allowed inside the rope/fence (all grounds must be roped/fenced in) - Players, Lighters, Referee, Quoit Cleaners, President, Past President and Vice President.
16. Any matter arising and not provided for in these Rules, shall be dealt with by the Welsh Quoiting Board.
